Working Like A Dog

At my house we like to put the dogs to work. I figure they live here too, they should contribute in some way. If I have to work everyday, they can work too.

The economy being what it is though, it's hard for a dog to find truly gainful and fulfilling employment, so tough decisions have to be made. Recently, Heidi's taken a job as a supplemental writing surface.

It's not easy work, but Heidi is a real go-getter.

  1. lol!!! Way to work it, Heidi :)

If I try putting my computer on them, they pick their head up and put IT on the computer keyboard. I'll have to work on developing these skills!

  2. Great job Heidi! My fosters have found work as an alarm clock (no sleeping in for me) and as food clean-up duty (of course).

  3. Mrs. Foot - Nemo does the same thing! He was fired from the supplemental writing surface position ;)

Dog Foster Mom - Melanie is also in the food disposal business. She takes her work very seriously!

  5. Heidi is such a good worker! I agree they need to earn their keep, but I am still trying to figure out how in my house. Maybe Pug is my guard dog and Maize is my electric blanket?

  10. Koira makes a great writing surface, just like Heidi, but unfortunately her fur is not very conducive to using a laser mouse. I bet the old ball-style mouse would work better on dog fur tables though.

  11. Billy is a bit of a failure as an alarm clock these days - it used to be his job to get me out of bed but now he'll sleep half the day away. He's an excellent electric blanket and pillow though.

  12. You guys have made me realize that Heidi was performing excellent supplemental blanket duties as well... maybe she deserves a raise? ;)

  14. Hi Y'all,

Now I just have to give you the DOG's point of view! BOL!!! I'm 100 lbs, so I'm not allowed up on ANYthing.

I consider it my DUTY to keep my Human well exercised and fit with several miles of hiking and jogging everyday.

My other job is to sleep in the bedroom doorway at night to protect my Humans from strange noise or intruders, like a neighbor's cat. I also guard against the Humans escaping without me!

I'm sure Heidi considers it her duty to serve!

    Y'all come by now,
    Hawk aka BrownDog
