(1) My husband. He's my very best friend and my life wouldn't be the same without him.
(2) My dogs. They bring me joy everyday.
(3) Blankets. Especially of the electric variety. Really, anything that keeps me warm when it's cold outside.
(4) The ability to laugh at myself and the capacity (and opportunity!) to do it often.
(5) My husband's new love of fake meat products. Tofurkey and fake corndogs, and he's 90% vegetarian!
(6) My family. I don't know what I'd do without them.
(7) That Virginia doesn't have BSL. I'd move across the country to keep my dogs if I had to, and I hate moving.
(8) Comfort movies. You know, the ones that you can watch over and over again and you still like them.
(9) Health. My own and that of my friends and family.
(10) My iPod & the podcasts, songs, and photos it holds.
(11) My friends. Both old and new alike.
(12) My hands. They allow me to hug the ones I love and create the things I imagine.
(13) Snuggly pit bulls. They are the best stress relief I know. Better than prozac, yoga, and therapy combined.
(14) Financial stability. It's fun to spend money, but the security of saving it is even better.
(15) My station wagon. It may be a "mom-mobile" but I love being able to haul around whatever I want.
(16) My camera. If I had known how much fun I'd have taking photos I would have done it a long time ago.
(17) DVR. So much TV, so little time.
(18) The enduring generosity of others. Especially that of my friends and family.
(19) The internet. It brings me knowledge, friends, and entertainment everyday.
(20) My mother. She is an amazing role model.

(21) My home. It's a work in progress, but it keeps me and my family safe and warm at night.
(22) My vet. His personal interest in keeping my dogs healthy is so comforting to a worry-wart like me.
(23) Really big cups of water. I drink a lot and it's nice to not to refill a glass 20 times a day.
(24) My feet. Walking, running, or dancing, they've always taken me where I want to go.
(25) Having the means to help others.
(26) My brains. I'm smart, and I'm thankful that I know how to find out the things I don't know (yet).
(27) Vegetable fajitas. Often the only meatless meal at restaurants that I can eat, and it's oh so tasty.
(28) My job. I'm good at it and it shows.
(29) The library. Free books are awesome.
(30) Love.
What are you thankful for?
Happy (early) Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeletehappy thanksgiving, kate! what a sweet post!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice post, K. Thanks for sharing your list. We have so many things to be thankful for, we realize every day.
ReplyDeleteI was doing a post similar to this because they make me smile :) It was great to read your list and agree with so many of them!
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for many of the same things - although I would add to the list that I am thankful for dessert, because it reminds me that sometimes, the best things come last and I need be patient. (cheesy, but super true for me).
ReplyDeletemmmmmm.... dessert....
ReplyDeleteFirst and foremost, Happy Thanksgiving to you and the doggies (and husband of course!)
ReplyDelete1) Fake corndogs are the bomb!
2) Vegetable fajitas are my fave!
3) I have to agree...pitties are the best snugglers and stress relievers!
I am thankful for your heart, because in addition to having the means to help others, you have the heart to actually do it. Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for your blog. It keeps me connected with Pit Bulls when I can't have one here.
ReplyDeleteSo many nice comments! I ditto Dog Foster Mom and anonymous. We have just realized how thankful we are for the kindness of 'strangers' and such a supportive and amazing online community. Have a great holiday!
ReplyDeleteThis inspired me to write my own little blog. It's good to put what we are thankful for in writing, even if we are the only ones who read it.
ReplyDeleteHappy (early) Thanksgiving to you! We are thankful that you are a blogger and that you are a regular one so that we always have your posts to look forward to!

Inspirational post and heartwarming photographs, thank you.
ReplyDeleteYou have a great list there :) I'm grateful for snuggly dogs too! (among many other things, which unfortunately I don't have the time to list right now since I am at work;)
ReplyDeleteThis is a great list! I started to make one for the blog but then chickened out about sharing it. I love that you mention things like "a good vet" on the list, because it's so hard to find a good one that it's totally worth feeling thankful for!
ReplyDeleteI've got a wagon also. Great for dogs, equally great for snagging furniture off the side of the road!
