I Love It When Christmas Comes Early

I mentioned not long ago that I ordered custom pet portraits of the dogs from the Yellow Brick Home Pet Shop. I also mentioned that the fantastic Kim of Yellow Brick Home probably thinks that I'm crazy... and that's because I ordered seven portraits.

I am, after all, a crazy dog person.

I got a portrait for each of the mutts and I think they turned out so well. Each portrait is a little different and I think they really capture some of the things that I love most about each dog.

Molly

Heidi

Melanie

Nemo

In addition to getting portraits of Molly, Melanie, Nemo, and Heidi, I also got portraits done of my parents' three dogs. They are going to be Christmas gifts for them this year. (Never fear, they don't read this blog so I'm not worried about spoiling the surprise.)

Unfortunately Kim isn't taking any more orders for this year, but she is rolling out gift certificates soon that people can buy towards future orders.

If you're interested in them, I highly recommend going for it and ordering a portrait or two (or seven) of your own.

  1. I love love love love love Kim's paintings! I begged Daniel to get me one but he missed the deadline...oh well, that's what gift certificates are for! ;) Yours look beautiful! I especially love Molly's (for sentimental reasons) and Nemo's (because it included his ball!)

  6. Kim is so, so talented...she really captures the essence of each the pooches she does. Those look incredible! Plus, she's such a genuine, super-nice person too. We are having one done of Miss M and Mr B...I still have to commit to a photo.

  12. I will definitely share when I figure out how to display them. I have plans of making a gallery wall somewhere, but I'm still figuring out where that will go. As soon as I do, you know I'll post about it! ;)

  14. Love! I think Melanie's is my favorite, but Heidi's is so perfectly her. I had Kim paint my bunnies together a few months ago, and it looks so great. One half of the pair has since died, but I love having a little painting of them.
