Photo Challenge Continued

Last week I posted that I was going to loosely participate in this 30 Day Photo Challenge. I say "loosely" because my personal "rules" are very loose:

- I'm only going to do the days that I can, so some days I might not do at all.
- I'm going to do them when I can, so I'll do some days out of order.
- I'm doing this to have fun and learn, so my photos may not be perfect, but that's okay.

I like the idea of the challenge because it's a great way to practice taking photos of new things. I get stuck on taking photos of the dogs really easily, and while they remain my favorite subjects, I need to explore the world outside of the dog-shaped box to really learn more. Besides, if I keep giving the dogs more treats for staying in one place I'm going to end up with some seriously fat dogs. Since I don't want to rename any of my dogs Jabba, here are a few non-dog photos that I've taken for the challenge.


Day 7, Fruit:

I don't think there's much better than fresh apples from the farmers market right now. They are delicious. My current favorite are Mutsu apples. Sweet, but not too much.



Day 19, Something Orange:

I was doing the dishes and realized we need some more dishwashing detergent. We're at the bottom of the barrel!



Day 23, Sun Flare:

This was purely for a little practice. I think sun flares are so pretty in pictures, but I never know how to capture those pretty rays of light. I read somewhere that a higher f/stop gets you more rays so I tried to crank the f/stop up on this one.




So sorry, no puppy pictures this time. Although now that I think of it Nemo's collar could have been my something orange. Oh well! I'm sure I'll get the dogs in the next round of photos :-)
