"It" is the West Elm Medallion Shower Curtain. It's very pretty.
Originally it was back ordered until mid-September. That's okay, I thought. I'm not re-doing the bathroom right now anyway.
But now it's October, and the back order date keeps getting pushed back. I have no idea when (or if) I'll ever see it. The problem is, I saw it on display at the store and I fell hard for this stupid shower curtain. It's awesome. And no matter how many other shower curtains I look at, I can't get over how nice this one is so I refuse to cancel my order. I'm hoping that everyone else is canceling their orders though so mine will be bumped to the top of the list and I'll end up with it in the end. So far that hasn't happened yet.
How long would you wait before totally giving up on it? Or, better yet, anyone know of another store that's selling this?
If West Elm doesn't have something, I really wish they wouldn't list it online (or have it on display in the store). Seriously, it's annoying!

ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful shower curtain, but I have no idea where to find it or one like it. Backorders are so frustrating.
I have all glass shower doors. The only one that wasn't was the guest bath in the mountain house. I found a shower curtain I loved...have to admit I got to enjoy it for 5 years before hubby decided to install a glass door in that bath too. Guess hubby didn't like it as much as I did. :)

ReplyDeleteI have no real advice on how long to wait. I think your gut will tell you. You'll either stumble upon another curtain that you like or you'll decide you've had enough. Good luck!
I ordered a 9x12 rug from them in the middle of august, too.... keeps getting pushed back. Next date to shoot for is 10/18. Why list something when you don't have it in stock and are having trouble with the manufacturer? (that's what customer service told me the hold-up was)

Oh Lord, I could never wait that long for something :) It would drive me craaaazzy. Look for something else, my guess is that you'll find something better and you'll be happy that the original one was on backorder.
