Weigh-In Day, August 5, 2011: I Heart Plyometrics & A Correction

Weight Loss This Week: -0.2
Total Loss To Date: -20.2

There hasn't been a Weight Watchers meeting for a couple of weeks, so I'm actually pretty happy to have stayed at the same weight. Having a regular weigh-in really helps keep me on track.

If you notice though, the last time I had a weigh-in my total loss was only 19 pounds, and this week it's 20.2 - so where did the extra pound come from?!? When I stepped on the scale today my meeting leader just happened to notice my starting weight and realized that somewhere along the way one of us did the math wrong so a pound didn't get counted. Whoops! Oh well, bank error in my favor :-)

Last week I made the decision to switch from the P90X lean schedule to the P90X classic schedule, and I gotta say: I'm so glad that I did!! There's more strength training with the classic schedule, and it incorporates plyometrics - a super high-intensity workout that made me sweat buckets. I loved it!

I really feel like the switch revived my enthusiasm for the program. I think P90X is a great program, but like with any program, after you've done it for awhile its easy to rest on your laurels (what are laurels anyway?). By switching to a new workout schedule I'll get to do some new routines and challenge myself more. I think the classic schedule also just better suits my interests and abilities. I've always liked strength training and I like feeling like my muscles are really working hard.

Although I have to admit, a few times lately I've found myself missing running. I'm hoping that when I'm done with this program I'll be able to run more (and that it'll be cool enough to do it outside!).

  1. how come you haven't attended a WW meeting? I like to remind myself, so you should just go instead of wasting the money on missed money. Also.. if I get bored (or annoyed) with a class, I try out different meetings.

  2. Congrats on the extra pound! I bet saying you have lost 20 lbs feels really good, I can't wait to say that :). I love hearing how you like p90x, how far are you now?

  3. NancyO - The WW meeting that I regularly attend was canceled. There isn't another one that's convient for me to go to, so unfortunately I don't have many options there :( No money is wasted though, they add extra sessions for the weeks that are missed, so that's good. :)

A&A - It does feel pretty good! I just double checked, and I *thought* I was on week 8. Since I wanted to skip the regular recovery week (which is week 8) I did week 9 of the classic schedule last week, but I just recounted the weeks and it looks like I was really on week 7... oops! I'll just repeat an extra week I guess :) I'm not stressing about it.

I guess P90X is only good for people who can count ;)
