I've hit 200+ followers. It's a pretty fun milestone to hit. :)
But it also got me thinking... Where did all of you guys come from anyway?
I talk here almost everyday, so you know all about me, but I don't anything about you! So throw me this one little bone: tell me how you found my blog and why you stick around.
Did you find me through a blog party? Google search? And when you did find me, why'd you stick around? The cute dogs? The house projects? (I need to do more of those.) I'd love to hear about what you'd like to see more of on the blog if you want to toss that out there too.
And I know a bunch of you out there read my blog via a reader, facebook, twitter, and email - you don't have to be a "follower" to answer! If you're reading this post, I really want to hear back from you.
So, let me know how you found my piece of the internet, I'd love to hear it.

I must have stumbled upon you from another blog (possibly Two Pitties?) or maybe you found me first. What keeps me coming is all of the above. I love the dog stuff, of course, but also the home projects. It's a great variety. And, you write with a really charming and honest voice that makes readers feel like they really know you. Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteI found you through different blogs. I love all of your posts. Thanks for sharing everything with us! Can't wait to see more.

I don't know if I am a follower or not, but I do follow (faithfully) via Google Reader. :)
ReplyDeleteI think you found me and commented on a post, and I was instantly smitten when I clicked over. I loved your mix of posts (similar to how my blog was) and added you that day. I stick around because I love everything you do! You and I could be great friends :) hehe
I think you commented on one of my posts and then I clicked over to check yours out, and I loved the cute pups and home projects and goals list. I feel like we would be friends in real life if we lived closer, lol... Or at the very least, our dogs would!
ReplyDeleteI'm relatively new here, but I think I stubled across you through Love and a Six Foot Leash's blog... I have followed them for a long time and think I saw you on there somehow?!?!
ReplyDeleteI definitely found you through another dog blog, but I'm not sure which one...possibly Two Pitties?? I'm a sucker for dog blogs, but I also love your DIY posts and getting to know you.
ReplyDeleteI read you through my Wordpress feed.
I found you through either Love and a Six Foot Leash or Two Pitties in the City...and I stick around because I love the doggies, I love the home and DIY projects, and I love the pictures! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's been so long... I almost can't remember! Either I saw your comment on another site, or you commented on mine so I clicked over...
ReplyDeleteAnd I stick around because I feel like you're really honest and genuine in your writing. A few posts back you mentioned finding your voice, and I think you've done that and I really admire it. I need to find mine, instead of just posting apologies for the lack of house projects- hah! The doggies are adorable, and your projects are impressive and you take pride in your work. Oh, and facebook helps too! I'm on the FB more than Reader lately, and you, YHL, and NPR are the blogs that come up in my feed and I can never resist clicking.
I am not sure! Maybe you found me first? Or maybe through a link party? I'm really not sure, but I stay for your sense of humor, the dogs and the projects. I wish you all the best!
ReplyDeleteI can't remember where I found you - it's been so long! I love all your posts - the house stuff, doggies, books you're reading, etc. I love what you're doing - keep it up!
ReplyDeleteI found you because of the 5K we did together. I stayed because I like your style!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 200!

I found you through I think Two Pitties. I enjoy your writing style and all the different topics you blog about.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember how I found you. day zero maybe? I stick around 'cause it's fun.
ReplyDeleteI was looking for a pic of a pittie behind a computer to make a post on our rescue's page and saw a picture of your pup that looks like my pup and had to click...which led me to your blog that i'm in love with!
ReplyDeleteHmmm...good question. If memory serves me correctly, I saw your comment on another blog (several folks have mentioned Two Pitties, it might have been that one), and clicked out of curiosity at the interesting name "Twenty-Six to Life." When I got to your blog and saw that not only were you a dog person, you had a German Shepherd - well, then I had to start reading. I remember that the first post I read was one about Molly going swimming in a lap pool. With such vivid memories of my own shepherd's old age and my efforts to keep her mobile and happy, well, I was impressed - and immediately clicked "follow." I'm more a fan of the dog posts than the house projects, but you have a great writing style that makes it fun to read anything you're writing about.
ReplyDeleteI confess that I almost stopped reading awhile back because it was taking a really really long time for your blog to load when I clicked the link, and it seems I'm always in a bit of a hurry! When I visited after my break this summer however, I noticed that issue seems to have been resolved. So I'm happy to be back! :) Here's to your next 200 followers!
Brenda - I love that post! Molly was such a good swimmer.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea my blog was taking so long to load! If you (or anyone else does!) notice it happening again please feel free to shoot me an email and I'll see if I can do anything about it :) (I probably won't be able to fix it... but I'll try!)
I remember reading your comments on Two Pitties, then reading your entire blog start to finish on a Saturday night! And commenting! You are so crafty and entertaining!

Huh. That's a great question. I wish I could remember. I've probably been reading since the fall of last year but how I came across your site in the first place is a mystery. Since we read some of the same blogs that's probably how I found you - through a comment you made elsewhere. It doesn't really matter how, I guess, just that I did! :-) Congratulations on your latest milestone!
ReplyDeleteYAH! Congrats :-) To think I have followed you for a longgg time! Love your blog and keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteI think I found you from a home improvement blog (not sure which one now). I stay because you describe your projects and your dogs in a very relatable and fun way! We have a pittie and a very aloof chow mix. After reading your blog, I always want to get another pittie so that ours can have a cuddle buddy :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think I can remember how I got here. It might have been from Meg at House Notes! I was looking for some different style blogs and I really loved yours about your dogs and you creations from Craigslist. And since then I've just stuck around to see what happens. I really do enjoy your blog!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea how I found your blog! I do know that I stick around to see fun pictures of the pups but more so the house pics. They're great to follow!
ReplyDeleteI think I found you through Love and a 6 ft leash, but I'm not sure... either way, I enjoyed your blog so I stuck around! I don't have a personal blog... just a blog for my pooch, Corbin.

I don't remember how I found you, but I stuck around because of M & H. I liked seeing them make occasional appearances ;)
ReplyDeleteI found you through the FTLOB Book Lovers Page, or Maybe through KT's Book Club? Yeah, I think it was KTs book club. I stick around because you like to read and exercise and I aspire to do your DIY projects. Well, some of them!
ReplyDeletehi there :) I don't really know where or how I found you...but I am a pretty new follower. I adore your blog!
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm your newest follower and while I've seen your comments on other blogs I haven't visited before:( So many blogs to read and so little time! But I was just reading My Life With Flyball Dogs latest post and clicked on a little button about a 12 week photography course and I'm here and wishing I'd arrived sooner:) Love your blog, I don't know what to check out first, but I'm going to start with the photography stuff first I think.
