I'm super excited to do the Race for the Cure 5k tomorrow (even though I will have to wake up early for it, ugh!). I signed up for this race such a long time ago it's a little hard to believe it's actually here.
Even more than that, it's hard to believe how much I'm looking forward to running it! I'm still really slow (that hasn't changed) but since I began I really have found that I enjoy running. It's a stress reliever, I feel accomplished when I do it, and I look forward to those parts of my week when I know I'm going to get to run for a couple miles.
I almost can't believe I'm saying this, but it feels really good to run!
I still kick myself for not doing it enough (I do think I need to fit in more time to exercise), but I'm discovering I'm the tortoise and not the hare in the race to be a better runner. (apt metaphor eh?)
And all those feel-good running vibes were really helping me out this week because I had a super weight loss!
Total Loss To Date: -17.0
If you're up and about tomorrow morning feel free to send some "speedy running vibes" my way. I'll be running with Mr. T who is waaaaaaaay faster than me, but he's promised to pretend he has to work hard to "keep up with me" tomorrow, haha.
With that, I'm outta here! Gotta get my stuff together and go to bed early so I can wake up at the crack of dawn to run with 40,000 other people.
i am sooo happy for you!!! yay!

Congratulations on running the race! I never considered myself a runner but I trained and ran my first 5K a couple years ago. It's hard to fit exercise in but I always feel better after running too!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great time!
Thanks guys! It was a lot of fun! :)
