This week wasn't a big success on the scale... so it seems. I actually think this relative stability is a big win for me. This week was completely abnormal. I had four days of training for work which (a) was stressful and (b) completely threw my regular schedule off. For two of those days I also had absolutely no control over my mid-day meal and snacking options. I picked the best things that I could and didn't look back. Considering the circumstances, I don't think that I could have done any better.
Despite the fact that my schedule was completely disrupted, I still squeezed in P90X each day. On the advice of Cassie and Andi, I pushed myself harder during my workouts. Remember how I said I didn't quite feel the burn? No more! Instead of chickening out of the hard exercises and modifying them before I even gave them a try, I at least attempted each exercise. I discovered that I can do a lot more than I thought, and I felt like I was getting more bang for my exercise buck while I was at it. All good stuff.
And today starts the third week of P90X! Two weeks officially down, 11 more to go!
Good job Kate! That is dedication, and you are totally right about being happy just maintaining for the week considering your schedule was completely wonky. Good work, how are you liking p90?
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying it so far. I like the strength training more than the cardio stuff though, which is a little surprising. I think the DVDs do a good job with warm ups and cool downs too. I haven't had very much soreness, and I think it's because there's lots of opportunities for stretching (there's even a separate stretching DVD you can do on your "rest" day).
ReplyDeleteWork always does me in when it comes to dieting. I'm thinking about starting P90x too. How soon did you start seeing results?
ReplyDeleteSome weeks there just aren't movement. I haven't started my P90X yet. Im a slacker

Lacie - I've only been doing it for two weeks and haven't really lost weight (although I blame that more on diet than exercise). I already feel stronger and more flexible though.
ReplyDeleteKari - I think I'm just a slow loser. I'm coming to terms with it :)
yay! so glad yo were able to push harder than you thought you could! you are doing sooo well!
ReplyDeleteSteady weight loss is the healthiest kind!
