I had a very productive weekend planned for myself. I was going to finally paint our bedroom, get nightstands, and try to get the room to that "99% done" stage.
Instead, this happened.

Thankfully, T and I walked away fine. The back of our car just didn't fare so well. We were on our way back from volunteering (seriously, where is karma when you need it?!?!) and we got rear-ended pretty badly. I'm just happy we didn't have a dog in the car with us at the time.
Since we were suddenly down one car (and you know, dealing with insurance companies) I didn't have much time to get anything done this weekend. At least dealing with the other insurance company has been really easy so far (the other driver has already claimed fault for the accident) and we should get a rental car later today.
Let this be a reminder: Always wear your seat belt!

Oh my gosh- how scary! I am glad you two are ok. And I am glad the other driver isn't being stupid about insurance.
ReplyDeleteAccidents with puppies scare me. We brings ours around a lot and it always worries me. My hubby made a dog carrier that would probably help in the case of an accident, but I still get terrified.
Oh no! Thankfully you are all OK!
ReplyDeleteWow! That looks like it hurt! Glad to hear that you are both safe and that the negotiating with insurance isn't too traumatic. Will the car be repairable?
ReplyDeleteWe don't know what will happen with the car yet. I can't imagine it will be totaled (when I think of a totaled car I think of something worse than this, but I really have no idea), but a couple people have already asked about that. I guess it just depends if there was any damage to the frame of the car. Hopefully we'll find out in a day or two.
ReplyDeleteOh no, poor Mazda :(
ReplyDeleteoh no!!!! so glad you guys are ok. thatis what really matters!

Oh no! Glad you're both OK!!!
ReplyDeleteThat stinks! So glad you were all okay!
ReplyDeleteWhat a craptastic bummer! Glad you guys are okay though. Insurance companies- now THAT sounds like a fun way to spend the weekend. I'm sure karma will catch up to you in a big way later, though.
ReplyDeleteYikes! Car accidents are no fun. Glad you both were okay :)
ReplyDeleteEgad! I am so glad you all are okay at the very least. What a thing to have to deal with. The last time I was in an accident like this, I was shaken for days. I am sure the Karma will pay off somehow, even if it doesn't seem like it now.
ReplyDeleteBe careful out there!
Holy crap! SO glad you are both fine. You are very lucky there wasn't a pooch in the back seat. Hope the repair goes smoothly.
ReplyDeleteOh No! I'm glad you're ok. My old car was rear ended and totalled :( So I upgraded to a mazda3!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you both walked away with no injuries!

Not the mazda! We have a mazda 6 and I love it hopefully it can be fixed. Glad yall okay and perhaps a doggy belt is a good idea just in case. I'm considering one for Mr. Timmy.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're ok! It's always the random other drivers that make me so nervous. We had to get seatblets for the dogs because I'm so paranoid.
ReplyDeleteOMG I'm glad you're OK! Hopefully the insurance company won't be too much of a hassle. Like Two Pitties we have doggy seatbelts. Ours click right into the normal seat belt receiver (no loops around closed seatbelt). I think they are from Dr. Foster & Smith.
ReplyDeleteYikes! I'm glad you guys are ok. Cars are replaceable, you are not.
ReplyDeleteWe have seat belts for the dogs when they ride with us :) If they had been in the car, they would have been safe, but it would have broken my heart if they had been scared and shaken up. :( Regardless, I'm just happy everyone was safe!
ReplyDeleteMike and Katrina - I hope you like it, haha! If this one is totaled, it's up in the air what we'll replace it with.
Bri - Our other car is a Mazda6 station wagon. Love that car! And I definitely recommend a seat belt for Timmy. He's too cute to not have one ;)
ACK! I am so sorry to hear this! It's good that you weren't hurt, but what a headache nonetheless. :( Good luck with getting everything sorted out.
ReplyDeleteIm so glad you guys are okay, what a shame. Especially since you are working so hard to pay those cars off!
