Election Day!

Today is election day! Hurray!!

This is one of the most contentious mid-term elections ever (don't they say that every election?) so make sure you get out and vote today if you haven't already.

I have actually never voted in a mid-term election before today (I've only voted in the Presidential elections) which is pretty sad considering how politically minded I consider myself. It was also a ridiculously easy process.

Voting took me all of 12 minutes. Literally. Three minutes to drive there, six minutes to vote (no lines!), and three minutes to drive back. I think I've definitely turned a corner and will continue to vote in mid-term elections from here on out.

What about you? Did you vote? I don't want to get all snarky with the political debates, but I'd love to hear your experiences!

p.s. I'm also adding this as a completed goal to my list (just like that other time) even though I voted before I actually put it on my list. I think it's a pretty big deal!

  3. Number 52 which is actually pretty high for my area at this time of day. The whole thing took 2 minutes with a 5 minute drive there and back.

  4. I'm the same way; I've never voted in a mid-term election before today! I actually wasn't even going to, until my husband convinced me that I should. I went before work this morning, expecting to have to wait forever, but I was also done in about 10 minutes. I'm glad I exercised my right to vote!

  5. Voting for me was only filling out the ballot and mailing it back in :)

  6. I voted this morning. The lines weren't too bad considering I was there at a peak time (before work).

At our polling place you had the choice between voting on the computers electronically or the traditional paper ballot. There was no line at all for the paper ballots, which is what I filled out :)

  7. I've been volunteering as an election judge the past 4 years. It's a great experience. Here's my post about working the 2008 election: http://tryingtocatchabreath.blogspot.com/2008/11/14-hours-of-participating-in-democracy.html
