Bed Update

Don't you hate these? Updates on projects that aren't complete are anticlimactic right? Sorry.

I'm still not done with the bed. I'm sure you're all sick of hearing about it (or rather, of not having the finished product already), but I have to provide a little proof that at least I did take a little time to work on it.

It's been primed! The end is near!

lousy cell phone pics to follow ...

While I know it seems like this project has taken forever, the reality is that I've probably only worked on it for about 5 or 6 days. I think that I mentioned before that this project is being done at my parents' house. I did that for a couple reasons: (1) they have better tools than I do and (2) they were willing to help me with it. Unfortunately, this has also posed some challenges. Since I'm busy, and they're busy, we can't meet up all the time to do work on this.

The moral of this story is to do projects at your own house if you want to get them done. My usual slowness with completing things has been magnified 10x because I don't have access this project all the time. Hopefully this one will be complete before snow hits the ground.

  3. I don't hate in-progress photos at all! In fact, I'm also kind of overwhelmed by out-of-the-blue posts about big projects. I like to see the progress. :)

  5. I couldn't imagine going to my parents to work on a project, that is quite a challenge! I'm pretty pumped to see the finished project, though.

  6. I know what u mean. I also take ages to finish my projects and most of the time is for exact same reason of yours. If the project requires more work than just painting (example cutting wood... or even sewing something -I dont have a sewing machine-) I also cannot do it home, but need to go to my in-laws and it takes 1000 years longer.
But anyway, even if slowly, you are getting there :D be proud of that! Not everyone would even think of building their own bed, it s quite a challenge. Cannot really wait to see the final product!!!

  8. I'm very interested to see how this bed turns out! I write anti-climactic posts all the time. I think it adds to the suspense at the end. :)

  9. I love in-progress pics. Because it is the little unglamorous things that take the most time and make it DIY!
