Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes!

Big changes have been going on behind the scenes here. The biggest news?

I GOT A NEW JOB!

Today is my last day ::sob:: at my current job and I start my new gig at the end of next week. It's a pretty exciting and nerve wracking time for me. I'm not good with change. At.All. But this needed to happen. I just couldn't deal with my crazy commute anymore. I don't have enough time to workout everyday, I'm tired all the time, and I hate having to take entire days off of work for things that should only take an hour or two. My colleagues are wonderful, but it's not enough.

What does this mean for you? Well ... probably nothing. I'll still be blogging away as usual. Although the new job does come with a pay increase so hopefully that will translate into more projects being completed (a little) more quickly. Or maybe we'll get to that vacation I've always dreamed of.

Regardless, it's big news here in Kateville and I have high hopes for what it will mean professionally. Wish me luck!

  1. Congrats!! I know that I couldn't handle a long commute... how far away is the new job?

  2. The new job is probably still long by most people's standards :) It's 45-60 minutes each way. But that still cuts my commute in half! Plus it's somewhere that I can drive to, so I'm not completely at the mercy of the bus service for getting to/from the office everday (I'll still take the bus most days though).

I love the title of this post. It reminds me of that old song (which I also love).

  8. Congrats! As a fellow change-resistant creature who recently switched roles (but not companies), I have to say it's one of the best things to happen in a long time. Hope yours is at least as good as this. Good luck!
