When I posted before about my lighting dilemma I never thought it would result in a freebie light - but it did! An awesome friend of mine read my blog and offered up an awesome light at a price that couldn't be beat - FREE! It's even similar to the CB2 light I was considering!
As soon as I got it home I made sure the cord was long enough (it was!) and got to hanging it up.
The only thing I needed to buy was a couple hooks to swag the light from the side of the room to center of the ceiling. It was about $3 for the hooks and screws.
It's not hanging quite right yet - I was just excited to get a real light in the room! - and I need to tack down the cord that's running haphazardly along the wall. I've decided to just run it up alongside the closet door so hopefully that will help hide the cord. I also bought some chain that I can run the cord through so that might help 1) weigh the cord down so it hangs better and 2) make it look a little nicer.
Now I can go in the room when it's dark out and see what I'm doing - hurray!
Soooo awesome! I think 50% of my furniture in my apt was gifted to me for free!
ReplyDeleteWow! I wish I could get that much free stuff! Know anyone who's giving away about 1000 sq ft of laminate or hardwood floors? :D
ReplyDeleteYay how fun to have an instant light! I <3 the birch decals on the warm gray wall.
ReplyDeleteOK, I feel like we're having 10 conversations mid-stream...
Yes Sophie loves playing out in her new yard. Every single time she does some crazy runs around the yard and then proceeds to dig. Since everything is still mud I have to carry her upstairs and give her a bath every time though. Since she's part beagle/hound she gets distracted easily with all the smells outside since she's not on a leash. It's good practice getting her to focus at least.
I really wish we could have put the fence right up to the house but it would have been a logistic nightmare. We would have cut off access & our view of our pond, we would need +4 gates for our walkways, and we would need a lot of double gates to fit the riding lawnmower through. Oh well a 10' leashed walk isn't bad. What kind of fence did you put in?
If Nemo has an underbite he must be part boxer. I'm glad he's getting along so well with your other dogs. Sophie was so poorly socialized she isn't always very good with other dogs.
